Description

The Target Velocity Scale parameter applies to EtherCAT drives in CSV mode. This parameter is used together with the Velocity at 100% Output parameter to convert the Control Output to the Final Output.

The Velocity at 100% Output and Target Velocity Scale work together as follows:

Typically, for CSV mode, the Target Velocity Scale is the same as the Position Scale. Consult the SubDevice manufacturer documentation to verify this.

For situations where the Target Velocity Scale is not the same as the Position Scale, use the following to determine the Target Velocity Scale:

  1. Determine the Velocity at 100% Output. The Velocity at 100% Output is the velocity at which you wish the drive to move the axis when the Control Output signal is 100%. This will be the maximum velocity that the motor will move at the axis, since the RMC will not command more than 100%.

  2. Consult the manufacturer documentation for details on how to scale the velocity in units of Velocity at 100% Output to units of Counts.
