This dialog informs the user that Programming Security has been applied to the Programming node in the project and/or controller.
The action to take depends on the state of the security settings. The Programming Security dialog will list one of the following:
Security Settings Enabled
The dialog indicates that security settings are enabled but not locked. This dialog typically appears when downloading the programming to prevent security from unknowingly being applied. You need to verify that this is what you want and click OK. The operation in progress will proceed as normal. If you wish to disable the security settings, use the Programming Properties dialog.
Programming and/or Copyright Locked
The dialog indicates the programming and/or copyright is locked. This means the security settings have been enabled, and the settings are locked. If the dialog has an unlock button, you can use it to unlock the project if you wish. If you do not wish to unlock, just click Close or Continue. If an open, verify, download, or upload was in progress, it will proceed as usual. If you are saving a project, realize that the programming portion will be saved in a password-protected encrypted form if it is locked.
If the Copyright is locked, the contents of the Programming node will still be accessible and editable, but copying and exporting of user programs will be disabled. If the Programming is locked, then the contents of the Programming node cannot be viewed or edited. A locked project can still be saved, downloaded to an RMC, or uploaded from an RMC.
Copy Protected
The dialog appears when attempting to upload the user programming from a controller that is copy protected. You may be given any of the following options:
Provide a password to access the programming and proceed with the upload.
Upload everything except the user programming.
Cancel the entire upload.
Unlocking the Copyright or Programming
To unlock the copyright or programming:
If this dialog has an Unlock button:
Click Unlock.
Enter the password and click OK.
If this dialog does not have an Unlock button:
On the Programming menu, choose Unlock Copyright or Unlock Programming.
Enter the password and click OK.
If you do not know the password:
If you do not know the password, you must contact the person who applied the password protection. This person may have entered contact information in the copyright notice.
If this is a machine-down situation and you require immediate access to fix the problem, you can contact Delta Technical Support. Delta's RMCTools Security Policy and Agreement outlines the situations in which Delta will disable or bypass the Programming Security.
