Description

This register specifies the network state that is currently being targeted by the EtherCAT state machine. The RMC MainDevice will attempt to bring the network state to the Target State, stepping the network one state at a time toward Operational, and each state will take some time to achieve. Network faults may prevent reaching the target state.

The current network state is given by the EtherCAT Current MainDevice State register. The EtherCAT Bus State provides more detailed information about the state of the EtherCAT network.

This register is initialized to the Startup State when the RMC powers up and each time the network is restarted or reconfigured. The Startup State may be set in the EtherCAT Editor, on the MainDevice General tab.

Writing to this register will change the desired final MainDevice state. This register is not saved to flash.
