Description

This register indicates the current network state of the EtherCAT MainDevice, which typically is the same as all devices on the network except during transition or faulted states. The MainDevice usually attempts to bring the network to the state specified by the EtherCAT MainDevice Target State.

This register can be used to check the state of the network before enabling axes that use EtherCAT devices. The network state should be Operational (Op) before attempting to enable an EtherCAT axis.

The EtherCAT Bus Status provides more detailed information about the state of the EtherCAT network.

Value	Description
0	Unknown The EtherCAT master network has not been initialized yet or has faulted.
1	Init The network is initialized, but PDO and SDO communication is not possible yet.
2	Pre-Op The network can communicate SDOs, but PDOs are not possible yet.
4	Safe-Op Both PDO and SDO communication is possible on the network, but PDO outputs are disabled.
8	Op The network is fully operational.
