To access this window: In the EtherCAT Editor, in the EtherCAT Explorer pane, click a SubDevice in the list, then click the Modules tab.
Use the Modules tab of the EtherCAT Editor to select Modules if supported by the SubDevice. If a SubDevice supports Modules, make sure to configure the Modules, since the default settings are likely not your desired settings.

Choose Physical I/O Modules in a Modular I/O System
Some EtherCAT remote I/O systems can be physically populated with many different I/O units. Modules provide a way to assign which physical I/O units are being used by the EtherCAT SubDevice. The Modules also configure the PDO mapping and Init commands for each selected Module.
To Assign An Available Module
Modules can only be assigned to empty slot. To assign an available module from the right box to the desired slot in the left box:
Click the desired empty slot in the left box.
Click the desired module in the right box.
Click the << button.
To Remove A Module Assignment
Click the slot in the left box.
