To access this window: In the EtherCAT Diagnostics, in the EtherCAT Explorer pane, click a SubDevice in the list, then click the EEPROM tab.
The EEPROM tab of the EtherCAT Diagnostics displays all the registers of the EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory). The EEPROM stores various configuration data.
The EEPROM tab may be used for:
Very advanced troubleshooting or configuration.
In certain cases, may be required to change the configuration of some devices.
In most cases, you should not edit any of these values. Editing any of these values generally requires a power cycle of the SubDevice to apply the edit.
Changing Configuration of Devices
In rare cases, the EEPROM tab may need to be used to change the configuration of a SubDevice. To do so, click the Hex View button. To view the current image, click Upload from SubDevice.
A new EEPROM image can be generated from an ESI file, or some other file that contains the EEPROM image. The image can then be downloaded to the SubDevice. After downloading, the SubDevice must be power cycled.
