On this page of the Autotuning Wizard, specify the type of system you have and number of moves you wish to make during the autotuning procedure.
System Control Type
You must specify whether your motion system is velocity mode or torque mode. The wizard will use this to determine what type of motion is required during the tuning procedure. It is important that you specify the correct type, or the motion during the autotuning may behave unpredictably.
For details on determining your system type, see Velocity and Torque Drives.
Number of Moves
Choose whether to do a single move or one move in each direction. Systems that behave differently in each direction of motion require different gains in each direction, and therefore require moving in both directions during the autotuning.
If you have a typical single-rod hydraulic cylinder, choose Two Moves (one in each direction). If your system behaves identically in both directions of motion, such as a motor typically does, you should choose Single Move.
