General Page

Setting

Description

Program Name

The name of the User Program.

Program Number

This number is used when issuing the Start Task and Stop Task commands to the RMC from a host controller, such as a PLC or HMI.
In the Project pane, the user programs can be sorted by name or by number.

Enable User Program

Specifies whether the user program is enabled.

An enabled user program can be run as usual. If a user program is not enabled (the check box is cleared), the user program will not be included in the verify, and cannot be run. The program will still be included in downloads to the controller so that it is not lost.

Disabling a program is useful if you want to keep it for reference, even though it may not be correct and may fail if the program was verified.

Tasks Page

You can define which tasks the user program is allowed to run on. Restricting the tasks that a program can run on will help detect program errors and help reduce the maximum programming execution time. For more details on reducing the program execution time, see Program Capacity and Time Usage.

By default, a user program is allowed to run on only one task at a time. This setting is usually sufficient for most applications. You can change this to specify a certain task that the user program is allowed to run on, or allow the user program to run on any number of tasks simultaneously.

Program Comment Page

Use this page to write a description of the user program. This text will appear in the Step Editor as the program comment.
