A message from CEO Steve Nylund
Here are a few 2024 highlights:
RMC200 ECAT MainDevice module
In June, Delta Motion introduced this new module, which adds EtherCAT MainDevice capabilities to the RMC200 Standard and Lite.
LEAP Award
Delta’s EtherCAT MainDevice module for the RMC200 motion controllers won a LEAP award in the motion control category. This new capability is also winning with users who appreciate this option for communicating with motor drives and other EtherCAT-enabled devices.

Employer of the Year Award
Delta Motion was chosen as one of three finalists for the Employer of the Year award by the Association of Washington Business. This recognition highlights our employee-focused practices, including fully employer-paid benefits, generous profit-sharing for all employees, and the recent implementation of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which transfers Delta’s value to our dedicated employees.
Attracting and retaining top talent is vital to our success, and we’re proud of the exceptional team at Delta—25% of whom have been with us for over 20 years. These are remarkable individuals who truly care about our customers and each other, embodying the spirit of Delta every day.
Outstanding people are the cornerstone of a thriving business. This award is dedicated to Delta’s employees—past, present, and future. Together, they ensure that Delta remains a thriving, independent, and employee-owned company for generations to come.

Continuation of the Rockwell Automation Partner Program
In 2023, Delta Motion became a Rockwell Automation Technology Partner. This year, at the Automation Fair, Rockwell Automation and Delta Motion confirmed the partnership and our continuing commitment to support our shared customers.
In addition, Rockwell suggests that users of the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix “analog” motion modules consider Delta’s RMC Motion Controllers as an alternative to these modules, which are no longer available. These modules, 1756-HYD02, 1756-M02AS, and 1756-M02AE, have been reliable workhorses in industrial applications for 20+ years. This also means the design is 20 years old, so it is not surprising that some have been able to achieve better performance when converting to the RMC, especially in industrial hydraulic applications.
Once again, I’d like to thank our customers and distributors for their continued business, and to convey my wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a fortunate New Year to all of you.

STAMPING/PRESSES - Fitting Solution by FFJournal
In 2017, the U.S. Navy identified a gap in the supply chain for military-grade fittings, prompting W&O Supply—a major provider of marine and industrial solutions—to establish Seamless Marine Fittings. This new subsidiary required a cutting-edge cold press to manufacture high-strength, precision fittings for military vessels. To meet rigorous specifications, W&O turned to Delta Motion’s RMC200 motion controller. Delta’s controller, renowned for its versatility and precision, enabled seamless integration and scalability, handling up to 50 motion axes with unparalleled accuracy. The result was a robust, high-performance cold press capable of delivering 6,000 tons of force, revolutionizing W&O's production capabilities.

|
Delta's RMC200 and RMCTools software stood out for their ease of use and extensive configurability, simplifying the integration process to a single day and drastically reducing tuning time. W&O also praised Delta's responsive customer support and reliability—since implementation, the system has operated flawlessly with zero failures. This collaboration not only addressed the Navy’s supply chain challenges but also positioned W&O for future growth in military and industrial applications.

No Oscilloscope? No problem. Check your SSI and MDT Signals with an RMC200
Troubleshooting high-speed digital feedback signals, such as SSI or magnetostrictive Start/Stop or PWM (MDT), often requires an oscilloscope, which can be hard to access on job sites. Fortunately, the RMC200 S8 and U14 modules enable you to create oscilloscope-like traces in RMCTools’ Plot Manager, capturing SSI Clock and Data signals or MDT Interrogate and Return signals.
This is achieved through equivalent-time sampling, where the RMC captures incremental snapshots of the signal across multiple loop cycles. While this method doesn’t replicate the microsecond-level detail of a real oscilloscope, it effectively visualizes signal patterns during troubleshooting, provided the signals remain stable during sampling.
|
|
To streamline this process, we’ve provided a downloadable RMCTools project file that demonstrates how to set up and use this feature. It includes a user program that extracts and organizes signal data for plotting, making it easier to interpret SSI transmissions and loop ticks.
