Legacy Motion Products

All of Delta Motion’s legacy products are still serviced and available for sale to support existing installations. Since many industrial machines have a working life of 20-30 years or more, being able to get service and buy spares many years after the original installation is very important. Delta is committed to providing long-term support for all of its products. Delta's policy is to not obsolete any products as long as there is demand and component parts are available to build these products. (Delta carries a substantial stock of components to mitigate this risk.)

DCSMon software

All of the Delta Motion's legacy controllers share cables and use DCSMon setup and diagnostics programming. The software requires a PC capable of running DOS, so it is important that users requiring long-term support for these controllers make provisions for maintaining PCs capable of operating the DCSMon software. If you have any questions regarding support requirements, please contact us.

Unlike the RMC controllers which communicate via Fieldbus, Delta's legacy controllers are designed to plug into PLCs or standard buses.

QUAD/10: Quadrature to MDT Converter

The QUAD/10 module electronically converts quadrature encoder phase signals to equivalent magnetostrictive linear transducer signals.

As with Delta's multi axis controllers, a large number of industrial controllers are designed to work with linear transducers. If the application calls for a few axes of rotary motion control alongside of some linear axes, the QUAD/10 can be used to reduce the number of different types of controllers in the system. In short, the QUAD/10 permits the controller designed for linear motion control to be used for rotary motion control.

Specific applications of the QUAD/10 vary widely. This module can be used with any of Delta's Legacy motion controllers (MMC120, MMC, VMC or MC).

Features

  • Single axis rotary to linear position translater for magnetostrictive transducer compatible controllers
  • Cost effective solution for rotary motion control in a linear motion environment
  • State logic for encoder phases guarantee glitch free conversion
  • Independent qualifying position controls
  • Preset position: Enable preset position, Position direction, Enable position changes
