Delta Presents at IMTS 2016 Fluid Power Conference

August 30, 2016, - Battle Ground, WA - Delta Computer Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that Peter Nachtwey, Delta's President will deliver a technical presentation during IMTS 2016 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois on September14, 2016.

This presentation focusing on a practical real world motion controller application is titled:

Optimizing Sensor, Actuator and Control Technology in Fluid Power Motion

Wed. September 14| 2:00 PM - 2:55 PM in W196-A

Our presentation will show that simple PI and PID will only work well with servo motors and that simple P only, PI or PID has performance limitations due to the natural frequency and damping factor of the hydraulic/mechanical design. Therefore 2nd derivative gains are needed. In short, the second derivative gain allows the control person to get around the limitations due to hydraulic and mechanical design. Discussion will include a real world example.

Industry 4.0 and the smart factory are pushing out the boundaries of efficiency, speed and communication. As such the IMTS 2016 Exposition and Conference is a great learning opportunity for engineers, designers, users, OEMs, maintenance personnel, distributors and students. Industrial Fluid Power optimization topics are among these many conference sessions as pneumatics and hydraulics continue to be key components in the manufacturing processes of several industries.

"This presentation delves into the practical, real-world uses of advanced second order closed-loop control to obtain optimal results beyond using only PID gains." stated Delta CEO, Steve Nylund. "The IMTS 2016 including the Fluid Power technical conference helps to promote industry awareness of high performance servo-hydraulic control from products such as Delta's newest and most capable 32-axis RMC200 motion controller for precise position, velocity and force control." Nylund added.

The high performance motion control products that Delta designs, manufactures and markets are used worldwide for hydraulic, pneumatic and electric closed-loop control in a wide array of single and multi-axis applications, including testing, manufacturing, energy, automotive, entertainment, plastics, materials, aerospace, metals, forest products and others.
