Delta’s Nachtwey Presents at PTC Asia 2013

September 10, 2013 — Battle Ground, WA — Delta Computer Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that Peter Nachtwey, Delta’s President, will deliver a technical presentation at the Power Transmission and Control, PTC Asia in Shanghai, China during October 28-31, 2013. This presentation will be at the Cutting-Edge Technology Seminar on Synchronized High-Precision Motion Control of a 44-Axis Modern Stage with Advanced Programming, Tuning and System Optimization. Highlights feature a real world application at The House of Dancing Water in Macau, China, a project that utilized extensive motion controls.

The stage for The House of Dancing Water is unique in that it consists of 8 main platforms and 3 entry platforms. The platforms are lowered to be underwater so that divers can change the props on the stage for different scenes. Then the platform is raised into view at different levels depending on the props. Each platform is moved by 4 cylinders approximately 9 meters long and 200 mm in diameter. All the stage platforms had to be precisely controlled so they can be synchronized even when the load on the stage changes or the stage is moving through air or water.
